Callum Hitchcock is an award-winning comedian known for his sharp wit, self-aware humor, and ability to find absurdity in everything. After winning the 2024 Savanna Newcomer of the Year Award, he’s been billed as a rising star in the South African comedy scene, having performed on stages nationwide with his offbeat perspective and thought-provoking punchlines.
Callum has featured on Comedy Central’s ‘Savanna Comedy Bar’, been a regular on the ‘Comedy Report’ segment of the popular eTV show, ‘The Last Word with Shahan Ramkissoon’ and he’s also a regular player on the SAFTA-winning web-series, Politically Aweh.
Callum’s debut solo show, Almost S*x Jokes, is set to premiere with a work-in-progress show at Ground Culture Cafe’ in Observatory Cape Town on the 8th & 10th of May — promising a hilarious deep dive into love, modern contradictions, and existential dread. Beyond stand-up, he’s a sought-after comedy writer, MC, actor and just generally an attention-seeker across multiple mediums. When he’s not on stage, he’s perched at home with his wife, his cats and his sports-themed mugs.
